DBS and safeguarding
Arslan holds Enhanced DBS certificates and is subscribed to the DBS Update Service. Full certificate details can be provided securely to an eligible organisation when required.
A DBS certificate has no official expiry date and records the information available on its issue date. Website information is not proof of continuing suitability and does not replace safer recruitment, identity, reference or safeguarding checks.
An employer or organisation must decide which DBS level, workforce and barred-list checks are legally appropriate for the role. An Update Service status check may only be completed by an organisation legally entitled to make it, with Arslan's consent and after the required identity and original-certificate checks.

Booking, cancellation, refunds and complaints. Read these terms before confirming an appointment.
Arslan Yalcin trades as Lion Turkish & English Interpreting Services, based in Wigan, United Kingdom. Contact lionturkishenglishinterpreting@gmail.com or 07711 805888 for bookings, cancellations or complaints. The quotation must include the business postal address and any different complaints address before you agree to a booking.
An enquiry does not create a booking or a payment obligation. Before confirmation, we agree the languages, format, date, time, expected duration, location or meeting platform, scope and total price or calculation method in writing. Any minimum charge, travel, waiting time, overtime, taxes and payment deadline must be stated before you accept. Extra work or charges require agreement. We supply these terms and the agreed details by email or another format you can keep. A booking is confirmed when both parties have agreed in writing. Changes require mutual agreement. Later website changes do not alter an existing booking.
Interpreting is provided with reasonable care and skill, within the interpreter's competence, impartially and confidentially. It supports communication and does not provide legal, medical or financial advice or guarantee the outcome of an appointment. Please provide accurate booking details, necessary briefing, accessibility requirements and a safe setting. Remote participants need suitable equipment, a reliable connection and a quiet location. Tell us promptly about changes. Recording or sharing an interpreting session requires prior agreement and any necessary permissions and lawful basis.
If you book as a consumer, mainly for purposes outside your trade or profession, and the Consumer Contracts Regulations apply to a distance or off-premises booking, you may cancel without giving a reason until 14 days after the day the contract is made. Send a clear cancellation statement by email, telephone or post before the deadline. You may use the wording below but do not have to. Refunds due under this right are made within 14 days of being informed of cancellation, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. If required cancellation information was not supplied, your cancellation period may be extended by law. These rights do not normally apply to business-to-business bookings.
If you want the service to start during your statutory cancellation period, we obtain your express request in a form you can keep before starting. If you then cancel, you pay only a proportionate amount for the service supplied, and only where the legal information and request requirements have been met. You lose the cancellation right after full performance only if you expressly requested early performance and acknowledged in advance that the right would be lost once the service was fully performed. Merely sending an enquiry does not provide that request or acknowledgement.
Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Outside a statutory cancellation right, any cancellation or missed-appointment charge must have been clearly agreed before booking. No fixed cancellation percentage or automatic forfeiture of an advance payment is imposed by this page. Consumer charges must be fair and reflect actual direct losses after reasonable steps to reduce them, taking account of costs saved and replacement work. We explain any calculation and refund any excess advance payment. An agreed charge cannot remove your statutory rights.
If illness, a technical failure or another disruption prevents the service, we notify you promptly and discuss an alternative only with your agreement. If we cannot provide the agreed service, we refund payments for the part not provided. We do not impose a substitute interpreter without agreement. Any charge for a partly completed or disrupted appointment depends on what was supplied, the agreed fair terms and your legal rights.
Please contact Arslan with your booking reference, concern and requested resolution. Complaints are investigated fairly and we keep you informed. Consumers retain their rights to reasonable care and skill and, where applicable, repeat performance or a price reduction. Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. English and Welsh law applies, without removing mandatory consumer protections or your right to bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable law. If a consumer complaint cannot be resolved, we provide information about an appropriate certified alternative dispute resolution body and whether we will use it, as required by law.

How Lion Interpreting handles personal information provided through enquiries, bookings and professional assignments.
Arslan Yalcin, trading as Lion Turkish & English Interpreting Services, is responsible for personal information received through direct enquiries and bookings. Privacy enquiries can be sent to lionturkishenglishinterpreting@gmail.com.
When an organisation arranges an assignment, that organisation may be the data controller and Lion Interpreting may handle information only on its instructions.
Information may include your name, organisation, contact and billing details, booking logistics, correspondence, quotations, confirmations, invoices, payment status and complaints. Only the minimum sensitive information needed for an assignment should be provided.
Please do not send identity documents, full medical records or other unnecessary confidential material through the enquiry form or email.
Information normally comes directly from you. It may also come from an organisation arranging the booking, an authorised representative or another participant where this is necessary for the assignment.
Enquiry and quotation information is used to take steps before a contract. Confirmed booking information is used to perform the service contract. Tax and accounting records are handled to meet legal obligations.
Legitimate interests may apply when operating and securing the service, preventing misuse and establishing or defending legal claims. These interests are balanced against individual rights. Safeguarding or special-category information is handled only when necessary and an additional lawful condition applies. Without essential contact and booking information, an enquiry cannot be answered or a service arranged.
Personal information is not sold. It may be shared only where needed with the client or relevant organisation, professional advisers such as an accountant, trusted email or technology providers, or public authorities where disclosure is required by law.
Reasonable organisational and technical safeguards are used. If a provider processes information outside the UK, an applicable adequacy decision or recognised UK transfer safeguard is used where required. You can contact us for information about the safeguards used for international transfers and how to obtain a copy. When you send an enquiry, the email provider you choose processes the message under its own privacy terms.
Unsuccessful enquiry records are normally deleted or anonymised within 12 months. Booking and contract records may be kept for up to six years where needed. Invoices and accounting records are kept for the period required by HMRC and applicable law.
Sensitive assignment material is not routinely retained and is securely deleted when no longer needed.
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to its use. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
Contact Lion Interpreting first so the matter can be addressed. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office .
To raise a data-protection complaint, email lionturkishenglishinterpreting@gmail.com or call 07711 805888. Describe your concern and the outcome you are seeking; do not include unnecessary sensitive documents.
We acknowledge data-protection complaints within 30 days, make appropriate enquiries without undue delay, keep you informed and communicate the outcome. You may also complain to the ICO. Raising a complaint does not affect your other information rights.
The interpreter request form does not save information on this website. Continue with email prepares a message for the email service configured on your device without automatically copying your information. Copy prepared request only copies the text on your device. You may paste it into any email provider. Nothing is sent to Lion Interpreting until you choose to send the email.
Google Analytics is optional and does not load or send measurement signals until you select Accept analytics in Cookie settings. If accepted, it can measure pages viewed, general device and browser details, approximate location, referral source and website interactions. Advertising features and Google signals are disabled. Rejecting analytics does not affect your ability to enquire or book.
Consent is required for optional analytics storage. Your choice is stored on your device so the website can remember it. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings. Google may process analytics information outside the UK using applicable safeguards. Essential hosting and security systems may still process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the website.
Offline app storage is off by default. It is enabled only when you choose Enable app installation or Enable offline access. This stores public website files and one preference on your device. You can remove that offline data from the Mobile app section or through your browser settings.
